some of our favourite ingredients
Eucalyptus has long been used for its therapeutic benefits most notably as an essential oil, usually inhaled. However, the eucalyptus plant also has antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties which make it a super plant for the skin. Eucalyptus has been said to help with the healing of wounds, as well as relieving pain, and easing inflammation. Eucalyptus is the inspiration behind the design of our Sportskn logo, and a key ingredient in our Sportskn Recovery Gel.
Aloe Vera is one of the super ingredients when it comes to skincare. Aloe Vera is loaded with antioxidants, as well as having antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties along with hundreds of active compounds such as vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that all work together to work wonders on the skin. Some of the benefits include, the soothing of sunburn and skin injuries, moisturisers the skin, helps to prevent and fight breakouts, slows the signs of ageing, soothes redness and irritation. We use Aloe Vera in our Sportskn Recovery Gel because we want the very best ingredients for your skin, and Aloe Vera reigns supreme.
Thyme is an essential oil, known to rejuvenate and stimulate. Which is perfect for our Sportskn Recovery Gel as it increases blood flow and circulation to the skin, which increases overall skin health and reduces fatigue. Thyme’s antiseptic and antifungal properties also mean it helps prevent breakouts, reduce redness, and gives relief from itchiness or tightness. Thyme leaves skin feeling and looking fresh and rejuvenated, and is a pivotal ingredient in our gel.
Cucumber is 95% water, and loaded with vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients which makes it hugely beneficial for your skin. Some of the benefits include reducing swelling, preventing break-outs, combating premature ageing, soothing skin irritation, hydrating, reducing inflammation, preventing free radicals, tightening the skin, and helping to keep the skin moisturised. Cucumber has been used for decades on the skin for its therapeutic benefits, which is why it is such an important ingredient in Sportskn Recovery Gel.
Ginger is a rejuvenator. Long used in food and teas to manage everything from an upset stomach, to the flu, more recently ginger has been found to be hugely beneficial for the skin because of its anti-inflammatory properties. We also love ginger in our Sportskn Recovery Gel for its dampening effect on the enzyme that breaks down collagen. Collagen contributes massively to the youthful look of your skin, which means a more even skin tone, as well as the fading of scars and scratches may be caused from your work out.
